Week in Review: Week of March 1, 2015

This week was my first week at home, and I spent the majority of the week just trying to get into some sort of schedule.  Of course it snowed (again!), and I couldn't find a sufficient quiet place to work, so things didn't quite work out like a normal week should but we're going to try again this week.  So my main goal this week is just to function as normally as possible as well as the following: Here are my goals for next week: Spiritual: Devotions (4/7) Mental: Read 30 minutes Spend 1 hour to myself Physical: Exercise 3…

Reading List Review: March 2015

I felt like a slow reader in February, but I still got a lot of reading done!  One of the books I read was very in depth, so it took me a lot longer to read than some of the other books I've read. Thomson One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp Stepmonster by Wednesday Martin The Five Love Languages of Teenagers by Gary Chapman Things I Wish I'd Known Before We Got Married by Gary Chapman What I'm Reading Now: The Fringe Hours by Jessica Turner How to Blog…

When Trusting Others Hurts

Last week was a tough week. Well if you include yesterday in there too. Not only was I tired and depressed, but we're in the process of experiencing change and change isn't easy. Work-in-Progress: Just Getting Through the Day

I don't know about you, but for me, sometimes it's a work in progress just trying to get through the day. I've really just been in a funk this week.  Maybe it's hormonal (I'll not go there), maybe it's my depression, it could be the environment, or maybe it's another factor. But I just really don't feel like doing anything. For example, today I just laid on the couch with Princess Anna for an hour watching "I Dream of Jeannie" and snuggling.  That's not like me. And usually, I have all the laundry done by now. This week, not so…

3 Things I Know About Prayer

Prayer is such a huge topic, so widely studied, so deep and immense that I don't think I could ever fully explain prayer.  But here are 3 things I do know about prayer: Prayer is your line of communication with God.  Without prayer, there is no communication.Prayer is like your communication in any other relationship. BUT...you can't text God.  You can't call Him on the phone.  You can't send Him a Facebook message, and you can't write Him a letter.  Which makes Him seem really far away at first, but what's really awesome about this is that you don't have…
