Where in the World was Making the Most? The Health Update

I've been debating which post to write next. I took a suggestion to write out five topics that I'd like to write about as kind of a way to proactively come up with topics in the event of future writer's block. Well, five topics turned into ten...which turned into twenty...so then the dilemma was, "What do I actually write about next?" I think one of the most challenging places in my life right now has to do with the health in our family. As a disclaimer, I'd like to first say that we are very blessed to have the good health that we do. Really keeping tabs on how we're feeling physically has allowed us to get answers and proper treatment along with better eating and exercise habits; however, the accumulation of diagnoses has been a bit difficult.

50+ Things to Do When You’re Stuck in Bed

I've never been on bedrest before, but I always imagined that I'd hate it. I like to be on the go, and there's always something to do, so I always figured being stuck in bed would be the worst thing ever. It can be, if that's going to be your continued mindset. Before I get into my story, let me just start by giving you the official definition of BMI. Simply said, BMI (or Body Mass Index) is a simple mathematical formula (or equation, if you will) used to calculate body fat based on height and weight. In other words, weight (in pounds), divided by height (in inches) squared, multiplied by 703 equals BMI. Here's a little history for you: BMI, also called the Quetelet index, was created by Adolphe Quetelet while developing what he called "social physics", between 1830 and 1850. BMI became popular around 1972, when the Journal of Chronic…

For the Weary

I don't know about you, but I often forget how tired I am. Case in point: yesterday, I fell asleep on the couch while the kids were playing on the Wii.  All I remember: Princess Anna covering me with a blanket, bringing down her pillow and my old stuffed rabbit, removing my glasses, and telling me to let her know if I needed anything.  (My heart explodes with love for that girl.  But I digress...) And today, it hit me while I was in the shower.  I was so busy with the laundry-breakfast-devotions-get-the-kids-ready-for-school-pack-my-stuff-for-the-gym-get-ready-for-work-go-to-work-drop-off-the-kids-because-there-was-a-delay-still-make-it-to-the-gym-and-back-to-the-school-in-time-to-pick-up-princess-anna-and-get-to-the-tax-man's-in-time-and-oh-yes-eat-lunch-and-feed-the-kid-and-pets-in-there-somewhere busy-ness that it didn't hit me until…
