The Best Shoes

In Ephesians 6:15, Paul tells us: For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In order for us to really understand this verse, I think we need to dissect it first.  Let’s start from the beginning. Why shoes? According to Merriam-Webster, a shoe is “an outer covering for the human foot,” or “a metal plate or rim for the hoof of an animal.”  In other words, it is protection for feet.  Our feet are sensitive, and sticks, stones, and other debris (like Legos!) can cause us serious pain when…

Why I Admire Working Moms

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel I've been a mom long enough to say that there is a small rift between mothers. The working kind. Anything is partly a story…

Same Grace: An Imperfect Mom Confessional

Hey everyone!  I am so EXCITED today, because I'm over at Busy Being Blessed sharing my ultimate WORST.  Mommy Fail.  EVER. (Excited for the post, mind you.  Not the mommy fail part.) So without further ado (because I know time is precious!), here is a little excerpt: If I ever had a Mommy Fail moment, this was it.  I felt like such a failure as a mother—like I had not cared for the gifts God had given me.  Still when I think of this, I feel disappointment with myself. But what I have to remind myself every time is this:…
