Goal Setting: Week of August 30, 2015

So last week I was feeling a bit lazy (perhaps the fatigue that comes before a cold!), so I didn't post my goals.  This week I'm sick but I know I need to post them anyway or I give myself an excuse not to accomplish them.  I did okay this week on my goals, but my health goals were down, because I tend to give myself an excuse when I'm sick.  Here's how it turned out: Spiritual: Devotions (5/7) Designated prayer time (1/7) Mental: Journal (3/7) Physical: Drink soda only 2 days out of the week 4 c. of water…

I <3 quesadillas.  I never really tried them until a year or two ago, and now I am in love.  I love all kinds of quesadillas (except spicy ones).  Especially this one.  I love hearing the kids get excited over what's for dinner, and this is one of those.  (Well, one didn't like the beans, but everyone else did).  The other thing I love about this recipe is that it's so quick and easy!  I doubt it took me any more than 20 minutes to make it, if that (with the chicken already cooked). We had to double this recipe, because…

Work-in-Progress Wednesday: Gearing Up

This week at Making the Most, I'm gearing up to get back to work.  Yesterday I spent a couple of hours with my dad cleaning up his work space.  Let me just say that I had an extremely difficult time wrapping my head around the instructions, "Clean up the trash, but don't organize anything."  (I'm an organizer, so these kind of instructions grate on my nerves like nails on a chalkboard.) I spent yesterday afternoon babysitting. Today and Friday, my plans are to evenly work on the blog and the book.  I have a lot to catch up on with both,…

5 Things I’m Excited About This Week

My brain is kind of dead this morning, so even though this is my deep, heartfelt post day, I don't think I can manage that.  But there is lots going on here at Making the Most, and there are so many things I'm looking forward to right now.  I'm sure some of you are looking forward to the same things, so what's better than sharing some excitement?  Here's what I'm excited about this week: The kids go back to school tomorrow!  I know I should miss them terribly.  Maybe I should even homeschool.  But patience is not one of my traits, so…
