Catching Up

Wow!  I don't know how things have been going for you (though I'd love to hear!), but our lives have been a whirlwind over here for months.  You would think that I would be used to it by now, but, well, I'm not. We had some major events happen this summer that ultimately led Cinderella to enter a faith-based residential treatment home.  There is much hard work to be done on both ends that include counseling, homework, parenting classes, visitation, and many changes to old habits. I found myself in the hospital about three weeks ago, struggling with a bout of…

Sometimes You Just Need a Day Off

For those working Momma's out there...sometimes...(and I hope you realize it) you just need a day off. If I share anything in common with any of the other working moms out there in the world, I could probably bet that many of you hate taking a day off. For some of you, it just means there's that much to catch up on when you get back to work. For others, it might mean that you're short on pay for a day. I have been both of those. The latter is a real issue whether you're a working mother or not;…

I Forgot My Sneakers (at the Gym)

Nope. I'm not kidding. I got myself all the way down to the gym, opened my gym bag, and realized it. I forgot my sneakers! They were sneakers like the ones from vessifootwear.com, so now you can understand my frustration when I realised I left them at the gym. I had one job. And my sports bra. And my headphones. 1 Year and Counting…

Wow! What a fun (and busy!) summer we had. Now we're in the midst of fall and school, soccer seasons, and Wednesday night church programs, homework, and planning for the fall. Does the busyness ever end? I wanted to post a little over a week ago but, as usual, ran out of time! I was excited to (internally) celebrate my one year anniversary of being a (sort of) stay at home mom! October 1 was my first official day as an unemployed mother, and I can honestly I would never go back. While the circumstances that surrounded my leaving my…

It’s Funny…

You know how I've been talking about flexibility lately? Well this week was another one of those weeks.  I seem to be having a lot of those.  The funny part is that I was trying to catch up on my reading for the Bible study I'm involved in at church. Starting way back at four weeks ago (because that's how far behind I am!), the lesson was on...FLEXIBILITY!  I think Someone is trying to tell me something. My favorite lesson was "Day 5" of the study, entitled, "Follow God's Plans".  The lesson begins with the readings of Acts 10:9-48 and…
